Do 4x4 tires on a car make a loud sound and vibration in steering wheel?

i'm thinking of trading my escape for an expedition.it's a very nice vehicle,and has the room i need.it is a 4x4, and the tires are big and chunky.it drives so different from my escape.i just wondered if it's the tires.
