Woke up to the house shaking...?

I woke up at around 4am because the house started shaking, like there was an earthquake. I heard a loud rattling sound, like things moving / jitterring around from the vibrations. I woke up my husband and i could still hear noises downstairs. I checked the news and everything, but there were no earthquakes or even tremors. What could have caused my house to shake?
